Younis Aroma's policy is to donate 7% of its profit earnings to support social projects for the needy in Somalia, and our Frankincense and Myrrh prices are calculated so as to ensure that the harvesters in Somalia are fairly rewarded.

I would like to now inform you of our efforts of tackling the issues of overharvesting and harvesting of the bark. Younis Aroma’s managing director Dr. Mohamed Hagi is the chairman of a seven-member committee who have been appointed by the local Puntland state government, tribal leaders, and farm owners to put a stop to the harvesting of the bark as this is the main cause of the dying trees. We have had great success last year as we managed to convince the harvesters to harvest only half of their trees in order to let the other half of the trees rest. The committee have had approved by the government a law that bark cannot be harvested from the trees as this was another main cause of the dying trees and that anyone caught doing so will face persecution from the local authorities. As expected, this resulted in a low supply of Frankincense Carterii resin last year but it was worth it as the survival of these trees is of the utmost importance to us as a community.

Our goal for the end of 2022 is to create projects for the people that we cannot specify publicly but can disclose to those who we do business with. Once these projects are implemented, they will have the following benefits:

1: Jobs will be created for women in poverty. ( Women empowerment )

2: A rise in the economy in cities such as Bosaso, Puntland where most of the world's Frankincense Resin is shipped from.

3: Our company will use 100% of the profit earnings generated from the sales of the project to fund sustainability programs, buy safety equipment for the harvesters, fund the livelihood of harvesters who give a break from harvesting their Frankincense trees, and create water supply systems for harvesting communities.
