Product Description
Frankincense Frereana (Boswellia Frereana), often dubbed as the King of all Frankincenses. The raw gum resins are collected from “maydi†trees which grow on seasonal rain only on solitary hardly reachable locations of steep mountainous rocks up on the north eastern Puntland State of Somalia. Traditionally, Somalis have maintained the use of the raw gum resins for incense burning, aroma, health and body beauty for centuries. One old local legend translates the origin of the word “maydi†as ‘meyd-diid’ meaning ‘against death’ with reference to perhaps the mummification of the Pharaohs of ancient Egypt and their frequent visits to Puntland, the Land of Aroma.
